Tallai Pest Control

Close to the Gold Coast yet set back on the bush covered hills that mark the start of the Hinterland, Tallai is the ‘green behind the gold’ of the coast. If you’re looking for an escape from the city life then you’ll find it here amid the native wildlife, rainforest and stunning waterfalls that characterise the Hinterland.

The area maintains a village feel and offers lovely rural, family type homes with many located on small acreages. The neighbouring suburb of Tallai sits atop the rolling hills with Mudgeeraba to share in the panoramic views of the hinterland and the golden glitz of the Coast. Located close to the M1 and Hinze Dam, and the suburbs of Robina and Merrimac, Mudgeeraba and Tallai residents enjoy the best of both worlds as they make use of the hustle and bustle of city life only to retreat to their rolling hills and tranquillity.

A 9 hole, par 3 course that is considered quite fun for the hilly course and tricky greens while being very reasonably priced and open to the public

The Mudgeeraba Show originally began as a small Fete & Flower Show over 80 years ago to raise money for improvements to the town’s Memorial Hall. Over the years the event has become an agricultural show that’s grown into a two day event with horse shows, handicrafts, exhibits, cooking and preserves, pet parades, wood-chopping, Ute muster, cattle, sheep, show bags, rides and so much more. Held in July each year the Mudgeeraba Show is a great family attraction for locals and visitors alike.

Tallai was initially a cattle-run taken up back in 1852 with farm selections beginning in the late 1860s. Timber harvesting was also popular and by the 1900s there were 3 sawmills in the area as well as several dairy farms.

Tugun Pest Control

Nestled just south of Currumbin and spreading west to the beautiful views of the Hinterland, Tugun is a small suburb able to boast great surfing beaches and a laidback lifestyle.  The Surf Life Saving Club has been proudly patrolling this beach for over 80 years and still does today (with new fresh members of course).

The recently opened Tugun Bypass gives you a hhigh-speedmotorway link between the Gold Coast and New South Wales while allowing the old Gold Coast Highway to become a sleepy beachfront haven for shopping and dining with numerous boutiques, local cafes and restaurants.

OOceanfrontproperties run along Tugun beach with phenomenal views and immediate beach access.

Close to the Gold Coast Airport the area is a popular holiday destination with a number of holiday apartments and motels lining the beach.

While there are no other sporting facilities actually within Tugun aside from the beach itself, there are more than 20 facilities within 10km in the neighbouring suburbs.

In 1925 the Seaside Hotel was constructed in Tugun as the town’s pub. In those days it was a huge boost to the town could make that the facilities of the hotel included a first class septic system and even electricity.

Years later the hotel burnt to the ground but was rebuilt at a huge cost of 14,000 pounds. The hotel stands today as a landmark of this sleepy, old heritage town.

Tweed Heads Pest Control

The most northerly town of NSW, Tweed Heads sits next to the Queensland border exposed to miles of golden beaches while sitting in the heart of the Green Cauldron – a rim of mountain ranges and lush rainforest snaked by the northern rivers.

This diverse setting makes for a perfect holiday destination and a lovely relaxed location for retirees wanting to settle down while still having the appeal of proximity to major centres like the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Neighbouring its ‘twin town’ of Coolangatta just over the border, Tweed is on the edge of a time zone while Day Light Savings is happening (October through to March) with many locals taking advantage to enjoy two New Year’s celebrations by hopping the border after midnight each year.

With Tweed Heads accommodation ranging from luxury resorts to homely B&BS, beautiful housing and a long list of award winning retirement villages, ample medical facilities, your choice of private and public schools, a range of sporting centres and shopping districts, Tweed really does have something for everyone.

Discovered and named by John Oxley in 1823 after the river on the English/Scottish border, the Tweed River has seen some traffic over the years.

A military outpost was set up in the area but quickly abandoned due to hostilities with the local aborigines. In 1844 the cedar getters made camp as they searched for timber to build Sydney homes and boat builders followed making schooners, river boats, fishing and row boats for settlers to get around the Tweed before the development of roads, bridges and farriers in the 1930s.

Time has seen the Tweed area go through sugar cane, dairy, and banana farming and even fishing to become a major exporter of produce. Since the 1940s though, the area has become very popular for tourism with a large influx of retirees from southern Australia to make it one of the country’s fastest growing coastal areas.

Varsity Lakes Pest Control

Developed by the Delfin Land Lease, Varsity Lakes is a structured, well organised community of the Gold Coast. The housing estates are built surrounding the 80ha Lake Orr with the majority of the dwellings relatively new. Waterfront homes have become very popular for families with a quarter of the suburb’s population under the age of 15.

There is a free-to-join community website for Varsity Lakes residents that provides a business directory and community news. Conveniently situated close to Miami Beach and the Pacific Motorway it is only a short drive to most facilities and attractions of the Gold Coast for those fortunate enough to live here.

Varsity Lakes was originally a wetland known as Stephens Swamp, named for former Brisbane mayor and owner of the area Thomas Stephens in the 1860s. He improved the area with drains, discharging the water into nearby Tallebudgera Creek. It was not until the 1980s that Stephens began to be suburbanised with the formation of Silverbank Lake.

By the 1990s residential development had spread across half of Stephens. The suburb was renamed Varsity Lakes in 2003 to present the area with more of an upmarket image and disassociate itself with the lower socio-economic reputation attached to the name Stephens.

Yatala Pest Control

Superbly positioned in a location of great natural beauty in one of Australia’s fastest growing regions, Yatala (on the western side of the M1 Pacific Motorway) and Staplyton (east)  was once considered the Gold Coast’s ‘Ugly Duckling’. That was until the suburb was ‘discovered’ in the 1970s as a commercial/business/ industrial centre conveniently positioned midway between the Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast.

Today the area offers people a much sought-after lifestyle option; the chance to live in a rural setting with business or work close by. The suburb is a master-planned community that offers an appealing, young eco-lifestyle in a green, semi-rural environment.

Residential housing options locally are plentiful and varied, ranging from units and affordable estate-style family homes and waterfront property through to lifestyle acreage, golf course mansions and villas.

Yatala boasts one of the last drive in theatres. Stock up on popcorn and enjoy of the last remaining outdoor cinema experiences in Australia. A fishing platform is floated within Albert River Parklands. Good catches are: Bream, Mud crabs, Flathead, Whiting, Mangrove Jack, Shark and Trevally.

The huge Logan Hyperdome Centre is a 15 minute drive north of Yatala and the Beenleigh Marketplace is just a hop, skip and a jump away up the M1.

The only school physically located in Yatala is River Mount College, a private school going from prep to grade 12. There are a number of schools located nearby however.
