Isle Of Capri Pest Control

Isle of Capri is a large island located on the Nerang River and acts as a bridge from Bundall to Surfers Paradise.

It is a relaxed suburb that does not have the heavy mix of units seen in some neighbouring suburbs. It is a prestigious island that has many exclusive riverside houses (you’ll find some of the Gold Coasts biggest here) and many older homes that can be modernised for good resale.

Most homes are located on the water so it’s a popular place for boating enthusiasts. Isle of Capri is just a short walk from the bright lights of Surfers Paradise but also offers residents a quiet escape with cute little cafes and plenty of river way for taking out the boat.

The Surfers Paradise State School is located on the Isle of Capri. There are also quite a few schools in the surrounding areas.

Isle of Capri is just a short drive to the three major hospitals on Gold Coast – The Gold Coast Hospital, Allamanda and Pindarra.

Locals can enjoy Capri on Via Roma which has everything you need – an independent supermarket, gourmet butchery and delicatessen, bakeries, the fish emporium, boutiques, Funky Fitness gym and a number of great restaurants.

Kirra Pest Control

One of the smaller suburbs of the Gold Coast, Kirra is a relaxed little beach suburb that sits conveniently close to Coolangatta and is only minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. Kirra Point, the small, rocky headland separating Kirra Beach from Coolangatta is known to be one of the world’s best surf breaks and attracts surfers from all over the Gold Coast.

There is a quaint little strip of shops that feature a couple of cafes with views out across that beach. Walking paths venture all along the foreshore and connect with the neighbouring suburbs, popular for early morning walks as the sun is rising over the sea.

A perfect little beach haven, Kirra offers residents the peace and tranquillity of a small coastal town with the convenience of living near the Gold Coast city centre.

While there are no schools within Kirra, there are several in the nearby suburbs of Coolangatta, Tweed Heads, Palm Beach and Currumbin.

Kirra is only a 5km walk or drive from the Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Course which has 2 championship courses. Of these 2 courses, the River Course has even been voted in the Top 25 Public Courses in Australia by Golf Australia Magazine.

Labrador Pest Control

Labrador was once a quiet holiday suburb, but now, it harbours the trendies of the Gold Coast and lovers of everything aquatic. Over the last 10 years the area has experienced major growth and progress which has led to the locals to come about in their attitudes towards the suburb. And why not? The suburb is lined by the Broadwater and close to the CBD but far away enough to be peaceful and relaxed.

Labrador is a long established suburb, as of such, there is no vacant land left. Many of the older three storey walk ups and holiday houses that run alongside the Broadwater are being torn down for redevelopment. New and luxurious buildings have risen in the recent years as well as a thriving cafe precinct.

Labrador is experiencing a significant transformation. It is foreseeable that the future holds much anticipated promise for the suburb which can be seen in the boutiques, bars and restaurants that are popping up all over the place.

Labrador is a mixed suburb with Broadwater beachfront to the East and gentle hills to the West with a pleasant mixture of wide tree-lined streets, original ‘Queenslander’ style housing (some more than ready for re-development than others), new townhouses and up-market high-rise developments and accommodation.

As one of the first suburbs of the Gold Coast to be developed (back in the 50s) Labrador still has an abundant supply of retro-style houses – half of which were renovated in the recent housing boom by first home owners, the other half will probably sit there for a few years until bargain hunters snap them up.

Any scrap of spare land near the Broadwater has been turned into apartments, some older-style three storey walk-ups, others 1990s low rises and a spate of brand new designer high rise buildings on the beach. Recent developments over the last few years have seen dozens of new restaurants spring up and the whole area has jumped up a class from its heyday as a sleepy little suburb of fibro homes. As a property investment, Labrador represents some of the best buying on the Gold Coast at the cheaper end of the market and you can still purchase a great home with character for under $400,000 (yes, with character)

Mermaid Beach Pest Control

Mermaid Beach and Waters are in a prime location, managing to maintain a quiet, beachside atmosphere cut off from the high rises of Surfers Paradise while still being conveniently close to the hub of the city.

The beach at Mermaid is lovely and quiet while the Mermaid Beach Tavern is a popular drinking hole and particularly lively on a Friday night. A short walk down the shore line is Nobby Beach with all its cafes and restaurants overlooking the surf. Mermaid Beach accommodation ranges from the multimillion dollar mansions to the older fibro beach shacks that are quickly being snapped up for their land value.

Mermaid Waters is a serenely tranquil suburb, primarily made up of homes built along a series of artificial canals and lakes creating beautiful waterfront views.

The Mermaid area is so close to Miami and Broadbeach that all the major attractions of Gold Coast city are a hop skip and a jump away while still allowing residents to enjoy being just that little bit out of the way.

The dining scene has also come of age in the last few years with some of the Gold Coast’s best restaurants lining the Gold Coast Highway. From favourites including Etsu Izakaya, Bonita Bonita, The Glenelg Public House, Mandala, Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar and plenty more, you’re spoilt for choice at Mermaid. The area is also in close proximity to everything Broadbeach has to offer, as well Nobby’s Beach and Miami.

The area gets its name from the cutter ship ‘Mermaid’ that John Oxley used to discover the region in 1823. Oxley named the area when he landed at Mermaid Beach.

Main Beach Pest Control

Main Beach is a boutique suburb favoured by the affluent and it is the pinnacle of cafe society on the Gold Coast. There is a sense of community in this suburb, everyone stops to say hello and the restaurateurs and boutique owners quickly become friends.

The centre of Main Beach is Tedder Avenue. The street is lined upmarket boutiques and some of the Gold Coast’s best restaurants and bars. Around the area are also the Southport Yacht Club and the 6 star Palazzo Versace hotel (plus many more accommodation types).  Don’t let that discourage you though as it’s still a friendly and relaxed beachside suburb.

The suburb is bordered by the Ocean to the east, the Broadwater to the north and the Nerang River to the south. Due to its desirability prices are high and demand certainly outweighs supply. On the beach side of the suburb there are holiday and residential high rises, villas, townhouses, older three storey walk ups and a few free standing houses.

The Broadwater side is full of older homes dating back to the 1950s which have usually been kept safely in the family since they were built. These homes are all starting to undergo renovations and the results are exciting. There are also newer villas and townhouses – this area is strictly no high rise

In 1925 the Jubilee Bridge was built across the Nerang River. Before this ferries took people across the River so they could enjoy the great surf. After 1925 land was offered for sale, however, it wasn’t until 1934 when the Main Beach Bathing Pavilion was built that this beachside suburb began to attract visitors.

By the 1930s Main Beach flourished into a holiday spot for both locals and tourists. The area continued to grow in popularity with the building of The Spit and the Southport Yacht Club – it was not just a haven for Surfers and Holidaymakers but now keen Boaters had a safe place to moor. It still is a popular place to dock your boat or yacht with plenty of water for bigger vessels.

Main Beach is home to the Southport Yacht Club which has recently been redeveloped and continues to serve fantastic food to members and guests. The Southport Surf Life Saving Club has also had a makeover and is very popular with the young crowd on a Sunday arvo for beer and fish’n’chips in the sun. The beach is patrolled and great for a family day of fun with plenty of ice cream trucks and corner stores to keep your tummies happy – just remember to Slip, Slop & Slap.

Further south the City Council has developed an artificial reef at Narrowneck Beach. This has become really popular with surfers, body boarders and when the wind is up the Kite Surfers take charge. There’s no lifeguards on this beach but if you are after a quiet stretch of sand to relax on, then you’ve found your place.

Narrowneck’s artificial reef was built to combat against erosion and improve surfing conditions. The artificial reef has built up and is now home to many different types of fish.

There are many restaurants along Tedder Avenue – you can walk on by and stop wherever takes your fancy – Seafood, Modern Australian, Infusion, Thai, Italian and many more. Marina Mirage also plays host to a number of fabulous restaurants and it is in walking distance from the centre of Main Beach.

Cafe Society is also big in Main Beach – business people, morning joggers, trendies and retirees all enjoy a morning latte at one of the many cafes along Tedder.

The Main Beach Bakery has become an icon to Gold Coast locals. Their fresh baked breads, cakes, savouries, slices and scones are among the best you’ll find anywhere. There is nothing better than a warm Sausage Roll after an early morning surf – sit outside and watch the cars roll by. They also make tasty sandwiches fresh to order.

Another great spot is Peters Fish market just north of Palazzo Versace. Pick up some fresh prawns, oysters and crabs brought in by the morning trawlers. You can also order fresh fish and have it cooked to your liking. Eat in or take away and enjoy your fish’n’chips on one of the beaches.

Tedder Avenue plays host to a whole lot of shops. There is a small grocery/newsagency where one can pick up a few things for an evening meal. There is also a boutique fruit shop, delicatessen, bottle shops, florist and gift shop. There is also a number of boutique clothing shops for both men and women. Recently, a number of upmarket lifestyle stores have started to grace the street as well. Not too far away from Tedder Avenue is Marina Mirage shopping centre and Australia Fair in Southport. And, if you are in the market for something a little more expensive like, property than there are some great real estate agents here as well.

Main Beach has no schools but both The Southport School (boys) and St Hilda’s (girls) are just located across the Nerang River. There are also a number of excellent State schools in the surrounding area.

The Gold Coast Hospital, Allamanda and many private practices are located across the river in Southport – just 5 minutes away.

Nerang Pest Control

Situated on the Nerang River, the area is the gateway to the Gold Coast Hinterland’s farm stay resorts and a number of heritage listed national parks and nature reserves.

The extensive wetlands that once covered the Nerang and Carrara area have been converted into lakes rather than canals as done in neighbouring suburbs. Just back from the coast line and on the edge of the Hinterland the area is that little bit quieter than the rest of the Gold Coast as it manages to maintain that peaceful township community lifestyle.

Nerang has 4 schools, driving ranges and 22 golf courses with 20 minutues drive with easy access to the M1 if you commute to Brisbane for work.

Formerly Carrara Stadium, Metricon Stadium is located in the Carrara Sporting Complex and is the official AFL stadium of the Gold Coast. Recently redeveloped, the stadium is now one of the premier sporting venues on the Gold Coast.

Originally sugar and cotton plantations, Carrara and Nerang began when a site for the Nerang Township was allocated on a slope overlooking the river in 1865. Nerang was the administrative centre for the region back then with a courthouse, police station and a meeting place for local councillors. Gradually Southport assumed these roles though and Nerang and Carrara managed to survive quietly as the scenic heart of the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Miami Pest Control

Known for its beautiful beach and laidback lifestyle, Miami is a beachside suburb close to the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast while not getting too caught up in it. A perfect spot for tourists the area has a range of motels and holiday apartments for visitors of all budgets and expectations.

Close to the highway, sitting next to Mermaid Beach and with Burleigh Golf Course and Pizzy Park in their back yard residents are by no means limited in what recreational activities they wish to pursue.

There is a diverse range of homes in Miami, starting with small beach front units and fibro cottages, going all the way up to large luxurious homes. Have a visit of Miami Beach and enjoy a meal at the Surf Life Saving Club or take a tour of some of the history Miami has to offer.

Each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening Miami comes alive with Miami Marketta. Having taken off over the past few years, enjoy amazing street-style food from an array of food trucks, wet your whistle at the bar and catch a live band.

Originally named after the Miami Hotel in 1925, the area was used as a large military camp in World War II. Miami experienced substantial building growth in the 1960s which was also when the district’s State High School was opened, attended by Anna Bligh who would later become Queensland’s Premier in 2007.

In 1962 a chairlift was opened that would take visitors up to a cafeteria on North Nobby Hill. Eventually a Magic Castle was built there and in 1983 the site was developed as the Magic Mountain theme park, complete with theatre, playground and even ‘thrill rides’. It was a vibrant tourist attraction for a number of years until it was replaced by holiday apartments that still go by the name ‘Magic Mountain Resort

Mudgeeraba Pest Control

Close to the Gold Coast yet set back on the bush covered hills that mark the start of the Hinterland, Mudgeeraba is the ‘green behind the gold’ of the coast. If you’re looking for an escape from the city life then you’ll find it here amid the native wildlife, rainforest and stunning waterfalls that characterise the Hinterland.

The area maintains a village feel and offers lovely rural, family type homes with many located on small acreages. The neighbouring suburb of Tallai sits atop the rolling hills with Mudgeeraba to share in the panoramic views of the hinterland and the golden glitz of the Coast. Located close to the M1 and Hinze Dam, and the suburbs of Robina and Merrimac, Mudgeeraba and Tallai residents enjoy the best of both worlds as they make use of the hustle and bustle of city life only to retreat to their rolling hills and tranquillity.

A 9 hole, par 3 course that is considered quite fun for the hilly course and tricky greens while being very reasonably priced and open to the public

The Mudgeeraba Show originally began as a small Fete & Flower Show over 80 years ago to raise money for improvements to the town’s Memorial Hall. Over the years the event has become an agricultural show that’s grown into a two day event with horse shows, handicrafts, exhibits, cooking and preserves, pet parades, wood-chopping, Ute muster, cattle, sheep, show bags, rides and so much more. Held in July each year the Mudgeeraba Show is a great family attraction for locals and visitors alike.

Mudgeeraba was initially a cattle-run taken up back in 1852 with farm selections beginning in the late 1860s. Timber harvesting was also popular and by the 1900s there were 3 sawmills in the area as well as several dairy farms.

Many of the older colonial houses still stand throughout Mudgeeraba and the stories of the old local dairy farmers have be recorded in a book ‘Dairies and daydreams; the Mudgeeraba story’, by Robyn Burrows.

Ormeau Pest Control

Straddling the M1, the eastern extent of Ormeau merges with the suburb of Pimpama, while to the south it meets with Kingsholme and to the north, Yatala. Many of the houses are located on acreage but there are also plenty of housing developments which are really popular with first home buyers.

The suburb has long been known for its large homes in rural settings and pretty countryside. It also has the area’s main retail centre and despite being of modest size, it manages to cater to most of the residents’ needs.

Ormeau (and the surrounding suburbs) are perfect for those who commute to Brisbane for work, however, it’s also only a stone’s throw away from the Gold Coast CBD so residents really get the best of both worlds, with pretty tree lined streets and lots of parkland too.

The name ‘Ormeau’ is a French name meaning ‘young elm’ which originated with a Major AJ Boyd, a sugar planter in the 1860s. A number of the streets are named after the pioneering families who, in the early days, farmed bananas, sugar cane and arrowroot.

Horse riding is one of the main activities here but beside the Shopping Village there’s a cricket oval and sports ground. There are tennis courts in the small park near the start of Ormeau Ridge Road and extensive parkland areas throughout Old Ormeau Town and surrounding Cupani

Ormeau Primary is actually located in Pimpama on Mirambeena Drive but many of the kids from Ormeau and Kingsholme attend school there. It’s a medium sized country school with a good reputation and strong community involvement. Livingstone College is a new high school that is located at the end of Reedmans Road.

The Ormeau Centre is the key shopping facility for the area containing post office, doctor, bet, bakery, cafe, IGA, chemist, real estate agent and newsagent. Thus, the essentials are covered. BI-LO is additionally located at the Norfolk Village Shopping Centre
